FIM4R version 2 - Federated Identity Requirements for Research

Intelligent networks of distributed individuals are the beating heart of our Research Communities, bringing universities and institutions together to collaboratively tackle unsolved questions of the sciences and humanities. Federated Identity Management allows these researchers to use a single identity for their research persona, and access the research services supporting their domain. Increasing numbers of Research Communities are turning to Federated Identity as the natural means of user provisioning, and are gaining first hand experience in implementing Federated Authentication and Authorisation Infrastructures in the process. During this session we will present a summary of the challenges and recommendations identified by multiple Research Communities, represented by the FIM4R (Federated Identity Management for Research) community, in their upcoming whitepaper, which will have been published by TNC18.
