Regional networks, communities and ecosystems Save to my Google calendar

The Regional networks, communities and ecosystems session includes three presentations. The first contribution is about the Americas Africa Research and eduCation Lightpaths (AARCLight)project. AARCLight is funded by the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) and it aims to conduct a feasibility study for the planning, designing, and defining a strategy for high capacity research and education network connectivity between the U.S. and West Africa.

The second talk is about the Eastern Partnership (EaP) project and, in particular, the networking ecosystem gradually being created and made available in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine to students, educators and researchers.

The third contribution is about international Research and Education routing policies for traffic in and out of Africa. The presentation will focus on creating a sustainable dialogue between partners around questions like What do current routing policies look like? Can we better understand why the current policies are in place? What, if anything, can we do as a community to potentially improve routing for R and E traffic in and out of Africa?
